Stewartry Gymnastics Club enjoy successful outing at Scottish Gymnastics' competition

Stewartry Gymnastics Club recently attended Scottish Gymnastics’ floor and vault competition at Bells Sports Centre in Perth.

Following on from the four-piece squad’s successful first competition back, it was the two-piece and development squads’ time to return to the competition floor. For some of the newest team members it was their first time at a competition. It proved to be a fantastic learning experience for the gymnasts and a successful day for everyone.

In the beginner 11 years category, Isla McFarlane had a very successful day finishing seventh on the floor, picking up a ribbon for finishing fourth place overall and being awarded with a gold medal for her outstanding vault.

The beginner 12+ team were awarded a fourth place ribbon for their collective scores and team member Cate Bannerman was awarded a silver medal for her beautifully presented floor routine.

In the intermediate category, the nine-years girls swept up all the medals winning first, second and third placings for each section of the competition as well as winning the gold medal for their combined team score.

In the intermediate 10/11 years, Ava Rice had a fantastic day finishing sixth on floor, being awarded a silver medal overall and a gold medal for her vault, with a huge score of 13.400.

Overall, the team had a fantastic day and are looking forward to attending more competitions in the future.
