Sam Heughan is the fans’ favourite to become the next James Bond.
The Balmaclellan actor topped a Radio Times poll to find out who people would like to see take over the role from Daniel Craig.
Nearly 80,000 people cast their votes and 40-year-old Sam was the clear winner.
He landed 30 per cent of the vote, a comfortable distance ahead of Tom Hardy with 14 per cent.
Sam, who was back in the region last year to receive an honorary degree from Glasgow University, has some experience of the world of international espionage after appearing in 2018 film The Spy Who Dumped Me.
