Stevie May's St Johnstone move back on as Tommy Wright looks to finally get his man

St Johnstone have reopened talks with Stevie May.

The Perth side made an offer to sign the Aberdeen striker last month but then manager Tommy Wright announced the deal was dead.

Saints chairman Steve Brown, however, made a fresh offer for the McDiarmid Park hero before the weekend thrashing at Celtic.

Talks are ongoing that both sides hope that will see Scottish Cup-winner May return to St Johnstone on a permanent basis.

Wright admitted after his side’s 7-0 hammering that his side needs more than a striker.

Wright is also keen on Notts County striker Kane Henmings and will do that if he can’t get May over the line.

St Mirren and Dundee are also keen on May but Aberdeen don't want to loan him out.
