Stevie Mallan set for Hibs exit as Yeni Malatyaspor emerge as shock transfer option

Hibs star Stevie Mallan is a shock target for Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor.

The Turkish outfit have been given permission to talk to the midfielder.

Malatyaspor are looking to do a loan for the rest of the season with a view to sign permanently in the summer.

Mallan is now waiting for Malatyspor to see if they are going to firm up their initial interest.

The midfielder has fallen down the Easter Road pecking order after the arrival of Chris Cadden and Jackson Irvine.

The 24-year-old has been at Easter Road since he moved from Barnsley in 2018.

He had been linked with previous club St Mirren but that deal failed to materialise.

Mallan has made 21 appearances for Jack Ross’ men this season and scored four goals.

The last of those goals came in the 4-1 win over Dundee back in November in the Betfred Cup.

The former St Mirren youngster didn’t make the Hibs squad for Saturday’s defeat to St Johnstone in the Betfred Cup semi-final.
