Stevie Mallan hints at Hibs exit as he drops social media clue over future

Hibs could be about to let Stevie Mallan leave the club on a permanent deal after he hinted an exit was on the cards on social media.

The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan in Turkey at Yeni Malatyaspor where he scored two goals in 17 games and was well received.

Since the end of the season he’s been linked with a return to the club and it could be about to finally happen.

Mallan shared an image from an airport with the caption: “Let’s Go.”

That suggests he is about to leave Hibs and won’t play a part in the new campaign for Jack Ross’ men.

The Hibs boss has a host of midfield options and is still looking for more signings.

And the departure of Mallan could free up space in his squad and wages to allow him to strengthen.

The former St Mirren youngster has been at Hibs since 2018 and scored 20 goals in 95 games for the Easter Road side.

He started his career in Paisley before heading to Barnsley for an ill-fated spell in England that saw him play just eight times for the club, before returning to Scotland to join Hibs.
