Stevie Lee, the actor best known for his role in Jackass 3D, has died at the age of 54.

His family confirmed the news, and said that he died “unexpectedly” in his home on Wednesday morning (9 September).

Lee was also popular with wrestling fans, going by the stage name of “Puppet The Psycho Dwarf”.

Impact Wrestling, the organisation formerly known as TNA, wrote in a statement on Twitter: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Stevie Lee, better known as ‘Puppet The Psycho Dwarf’ in the early days of TNA.”

"We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family."

As well as appearing in the hit stunt franchise, he also had roles in the popular horror anthology series American Horror Story, and Oz: The Great and Powerful.

Tributes to Lee poured in on social media, with fans describing the late performer as “a legend” and “one of the toughest guys ever”.

Former pro wrestler Frankie Kazarian wrote on Twitter: “RIP Stevie Lee aka Puppet the Psycho Dwarf.

“I’ll never forget the crazy tour of the UK we shared and the fun we all had. Godspeed my friend.”

Lee was also known for featuring in the Spike TV series, Half Pint Brawlers, and had sometimes performed stand-up comedy, footage of which can be seen on YouTube.
