Stevenston serious assault probe after man attacked by duo in own back garden

A man was seriously assaulted by two men in his own back garden during an evening attack.

The incident took place around 10.30pm on Friday night in Glencairn Street, Stevenston.

The 46-year-old was attacked by the pair and had to be taken to Kilmarnock's Crosshouse Hospital to be treated for facial injuries.

Both suspects are male and one of the men is described as being approximately 5ft 4in tall and of slim build.

Detective Constable Kevin Simpson, of Saltcoats CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen two males acting suspiciously in the Glencairn Street area either before or after the incident.

“If you believe you can assist our investigation, please call 101, quoting incident 3736 of 17 December.

"Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
