Steven Spielberg's daughter Mikaela says parents 'expected' adult film career

Mikaela Spielberg, the daughter of film director Steven Spielberg and actor Kate Capshaw, has said her parents “aren’t embarrassed” by her decision to pursue a career in the adult film industry.

The 24-year-old made the announcement last month in an interview where she also claimed she was abused and groomed by “monsters” outside her family in the past.

Of her career decision, she said she “got really tired of not being able to capitalise on my body”.

“I also got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn’t satisfying my soul,” she added.

Speaking to The Sun in a second interview, Mikaela has now said her parents were “actually kind of expecting” her to work in “some sort of outsider art... or taboo art, because they’ve always known that I was a little bit neurotic”.

“That’s not to say all performers are neurotic,” she said. “Just the kind of performer I am – they’ve always known that whatever I wanted to do in life I probably was going to do it whether they liked it or not.

“So it kind of felt like a bit of a relief. It was like they were preparing themselves to get the news for this and they’re not sad for me and my choice of career.”

Mikaela’s interview follows an incident where she was arrested and charged with domestic violence in Nashville, Tennessee, following a call for medical assistance from her partner, Chuck Pankow. A trial date has been set for next month.
