Steven Spielberg's Amblin TV cuts ties with CBS series 'Bull' after sexual harassment accusations against star Michael Weatherly

Steven Spielberg's TV studio has cut ties with the CBS series "Bull" following accusations of sexual harassment against show's lead actor, Michael Weatherly.

Amblin Television will not work with the legal drama series moving forward, a rep for the company confirmed to Deadline and other outlets. Amblin had produced the first three seasons of "Bull," which was recently renewed by CBS for a fourth season.

Amblin did not provide a reason for ending its relationship with the show.

Spielberg, 72, had worked as an executive producer for the series, as had Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, the studio's co-presidents.

This development comes about six months after The New York Times reported actress Eliza Dushku came to a $9.5 million settlement with CBS after claiming she was sexually harassed by Weatherly.

Dushku, who appeared on three episodes of "Bull" in 2017, told the newspaper she was fired shortly after filing a complaint about crude comments that Weatherly allegedly made.

Weatherly, who stars as Dr. Jason Bull, apologized but denied playing a role in her firing.

"During the course of taping our show, I made some jokes mocking some lines in the script," he told The Times in a statement in December. "When Eliza told me that she wasn't comfortable with my language and attempt at humor, I was mortified to have offended her and immediately apologized. After reflecting on this further, I better understand that what I said was both not funny and not appropriate and I am sorry and regret the pain this caused Eliza."
