Steven Naismith to complete Hearts move in next 48 hours

Hearts will finally sign Steven Naismith on a permanent deal in the next 48 hours.

The news will be a huge boost to fans and Craig Levein just three days ahead of the Premiership curtain-raiser against Aberdeen.

Levein has been crying out for a goalscorer after watching Hearts struggle to qualify from their Betfred Cup group.

Naismith has spent the last 18 months at Tynecastle on loan from Norwich and, despite suffering two serious knee injuries last season, still managed to nab 14 goals.

The 32-year-old former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker’s deal at Norwich expired at the end of the season but Levein was happy to hold off on signing a permanent deal with Hearts for contractual reasons.

That wait is set to come to an end on August 1 though, according to the Sun, when Naismith will finally put pen to paper.

Scotland international Naismith has been training with the Gorgie men throughout the summer as he builds his fitness after undergoing surgery on his knee in March.
