Steven Gerrard has provided a fitness update on several of his players ahead of Aston Villa's trip to Selhurst Park tomorrow to play Crystal Palace.
The new Villains boss will take his side to south London on Saturday in a bid to build on their first win of the Gerrard era against Brighton last time out.
To do so, the former Glasgow Rangers boss will be hoping to have as many of his players available for the game, though speaking to the media in his press conference he said some players would require a late fitness call.
Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz last featured for Villa a month ago at Arsenal and has missed matches against West Ham, Southampton and Brighton with a hamstring injury.
"Douglas Luiz will come back into the squad this weekend," said Gerrard. "He's trained well. I'll decide late whether he'll go in from the start or will come into the game."
Elsewhere, Morgan Sanson is still adjudged to be lacking in match fitness after appearing on the bench last weekend against the Seagulls.
"Morgan is starting to look fitter and stronger as the days go by but he needs more work and more training sessions before he's fully ready," added Gerrard, who said the Frenchman will be amongst the squad this weekend.
Bertrand Traore meanwhile, who has been out since the beginning of October with a thigh injury, is still unavailable for selection, however.
"We need to be patient," Gerrard explained. "He is progressing well but he's still quite a few weeks away from being around the team."
The game against Crystal Palace will also come too soon for Egyptian wide man Trezeguet, who has been on the sidelines for just over seven months with knee ligament damage.
The 23-year-old is expected to join the club's Under-23s for their Premier League 2 fixture against Birmingham City.
"It's positive, in terms of the longer-term injuries, Trezeguet is training well after a long injury," added Gerrard.
"We're hoping to get another week into Trez and we'll look to get him some game time from an under-23 point of view to try and build some game time in his legs. He's completed his first full week of training. The idea is for him to complete a second week and then get some minutes."
