Rangers boss Steven Gerrard’s odds to become the next Newcastle United boss have been slashed.
The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, chaired by multi-billionaire Mohammed Bin Salman, have completed a £300million deal for the club.
Despite the controversy behind the deal, it looks like an exciting new era for the Magpies after trudging through the Mike Ashley era.
And the new owners said to be looking for a shake-up in the management team with Steve Bruce struggling for results this term and almost certain to be sacked.
Following on from his Premiership title success last season, Gerrard has been named among the bookmakers’ favourites for the St James' Park hotseat. He was an outsider at 20-1 but is now priced at fours as punters throw their money on the Liverpool icon.

Gerrard has performed well in Europe where he has lead Rangers to the Europa League group stage in every year of his tenure.
He capped a two-year rebuilding programme with a 55th league title for the club.
It's the second time Gerrard has been touted for the hot seat, having reportedly appeared on the shortlist to replace Rafa Benitez back in 2019.
Former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, who snubbed the Celtic job in the summer, is the favourite as it stands but the odds have tumbled on Gerrard.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Steven Gerrard has been backed to 4/1 from 20/1 to replace Steve Bruce, who is now the 3/10 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post amid Newcastle United 's impending takeover.”
