Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will make an emotional Liverpool return as the club bids farewell to its Melwood training base.
Gerrard and Jamie Carragher will will don the red shirt again in a special match to mark the club saying goodbye to the complex.
The Champions League winners are set to open a new £50m state-of-the-art complex in Kirkby ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Part of that cost has been offset by the Reds selling their iconic base at Melwood for housing developments, with the first team set to move to the new training ground next to their academy in Kirkby.
Before Melwood closes its doors for good next summer, a series of events have been planned in order to give the training ground the send off it deserves.
One of those is the special match between sides captained by the Rangers boss and Carragher that has been organised to raise funds for the latter's 23 Foundation.
The chance for the public to play alongside the legends was auctioned off at a recent charity dinner, with one Liverpool supporter stumping up £14,000 for him and his mates to take part in the game.
Gerrard's involvement in the fixture also helped raise a further £19,000 for the 23 Foundation, which supports children in the Merseyside area.
Liverpool first announced their intentions to sell of their Melwood base at the end of 2017, with the sale eventually being concluded earlier this year.
Torus, an affordable housing provider, brought the land from the Reds despite locals pleading with the European champions not to sell the base.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to have had a say in designs for the new training ground in Kirkby, along with the majority of the first team.
The new base will be home to two gyms, a full-size sports hall, a pool, a hydrotherapy complex and specialist sports rehabilitation suites.
