Steven Gerrard to lay Rangers 'marker' for next Celtic boss as Charlie Adam makes confident unbeaten prediction

Bullish Charlie Adam has predicted Rangers will cruise to an unbeaten season to send a message to the next Celtic boss.

Going into the first post-split fixture this Sunday against Hibs, Steven Gerrard 's side are five games away from completing an invincible Premiership campaign.

Former Ibrox midfielder Adam insists that the champions will be able to see off any of the other top six sides during the final run-in.

The Dundee skipper also reckons that they will win the last two derby day clashes against Celtic in the league and Scottish Cup.

He told the PLZ Football Show that it will be important to boss Gerrard to send a message to whoever steps into the Parkhead hot seat next term with an unblemished league record.

Adam said: "I said before that I didn’t think Rangers would be able to go the full season, but looking at it now I think every other team will drop off.

"I think Hibs have got third place, Aberdeen can’t buy a win, Livingston won’t catch anybody and I don’t see St Johnstone beating Rangers either, and I think Rangers will beat Celtic in the two games that are left in the cup and the league.

"I think Rangers will go undefeated for the whole season.

"The manager will be drumming it into the players that this is the chance for us to keep setting the tone, put down the marker for next season, and show whoever goes in across the road that we mean business and are ready to go again next season. "
