Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has admitted the club is searching for reinforcements to strengthen his options in midfield.
Gerrard is preparing to take on Alashkert at Ibrox on Thursday night as he eyes a berth in the group stage of the Europa League.
Seeing off the Armenians on Thursday and in the gruelling return trip next week will ensure safe passage as the club remain without Glen Kamara for the first leg, who serves the final match of a three-game UEFA ban.
But it's in Kamara's position the Ibrox side are looking to add as the manager insisted "you never know" what could happen with less than two weeks of the summer transfer window to go.
Gers have been linked with a number of midfielders over the course of the summer window, most notably Joey Veerman and Leandro Bacuna in recent weeks while John Lundstram has already signed.
Nnamdi Ofoborh, too, has joined but he's working through a heart issue away from the park and the manager said: "There is a lot of hard work behind the scenes always going on.
"Whilst the window is still open you never know but I don't think there will be a huge amount of incomings.
"We are actively looking to strengthen in midfield, we will have to wait and see what happens."
Gerrard also confirmed defender Nikola Katic still has a future at Rangers – but hinted the Croatian defender may be sent on loan to get him up to full match sharpness.

He added: "Niko (Katic) needs to play football and we are looking at options.
"In terms of people putting saying his future is done here, that is wide of the mark.
"He has had a serious injury and it is about getting him the games & getting back up to speed after that level of injury."
