Steven Gerrard shares heartfelt message to 16-year-old daughter on her prom night

Steven Gerrard was bursting with pride as his daughter attended her school prom. The Liverpool legend sent his 16-year-old daughter a heart-warming message as she went off to celebrate the end of her secondary school years.

The Aston Villa manager often shares snippers of his family life with his 10.3 million followers on Instagram, who are each keen to keep up-to-date with his private life away from the pitch.

The former professional player, 42, and his wife Alex Curran, 39, have four children together, three girls Lilly, 18, Lexie, 16, Lourdes, 10, and one son Lio, 4.

Most recently Gerrard took to his Instagram page to send a heartfelt message to Lexie ahead of her special evening, reports the Echo.

Sharing a snap of his daughter dressed up in a long sleeved light pink dress, he said: "Prom night. My world," with a love heart and a world emoji.

Gerrard recently enjoyed a relaxing holiday with his family ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. The former LFC captain shared a snap of himself, Alex and their daughter Lourdes with some friends at Javier's Cantina in Los Angeles.

Gerrard also enjoyed drinks with Hollywood star Will Ferrell on his trip away. He posted a picture on Instagram of the two drinking wine with a third man in the snap. Captioning the post, Steven simply said: "As ye do" [sic].

The former Liverpool captain began a relationship his model wife back in 2002, and they later tied the knot in a spectacular ceremony in Buckinghamshire in 2007.

When Steven signed an 18-month deal with LA Galaxy in 2015, the couple and their three daughters, Lilly-Ella, Lexie and Lourdes moved to a £16.8 million home in LA, according to the Mirror.

However, the pair reportedly grew homesick and missed their families so decided to return to the UK after Gerrard's second season at the MLS club.

After his retirement from professional football, Gerrard became a Liverpool youth coach and Alex gave birth to their first son, Lio.

He then got the Rangers gig ahead of the 2018-19 season, but the family stayed in Liverpool.

Steven was then appointed head coach of Aston Villa in 2021 after spending three years with the Scottish club in his first managerial post.
