Bobby Duncan was congratulated by cousin Steven Gerrard after he scored his first senior goal for Liverpool .
The Reds put League One opponents Tranmere to the sword at Prenton Park with Rhian Brewster scoring twice in a 6-0 win.
Divock Origi, Nathaniel Clyne and Curtis Jones also found the net before teenager Duncan fired home his side's sixth goal.
The 18-year-old has been given a chance to impress in pre-season with Liverpool's front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all in international action this summer.
And he did just that as he found the net at Prenton Park.
Duncan took to social media to express his delight at scoring his first senior goal.
"A day I always dreamed of, making my Liverpool debut.
"A club that I have admired from a young boy and also supported all my life.
"Also delighted to top it of with a goal and a fantastic team performance."
Duncan was sent a congratulatory message from cousin and Anfield legend Gerrard.
The Rangers boss proudly replied to the Instagram post with: "Well done kid."
Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool's youngsters will continue to get opportunities with the Reds facing Bradford this weekend.
They will then head out to the States for their pre-season tour with Duncan hoping to be involved.
After the win over Tranmere, Klopp also confirmed his side were unlikely to make any further signings with a deal for Fulham youngster Harvey Elliott close.
