Steven Gerrard's Rangers press conference in full as he shoots down title question with 'no success' one-liner

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard emphasises his squad have had "no success" this season despite establishing a 19 point lead at the top.

The Ibrox club lead the Scottish Premiership and while Celtic have three games in hand they're odds-on favourites to take the title.

But the Liverpool legend is in no mood to celebrate as he warns nothing has been achieved yet.

Asked in his press conference ahead of the Aberdeen match about the keys to success Gerrard hit back immediately.

He replied: "We've had no success this season.

"It's something that we're working towards, everyone's pushing in the right direction for this season to be a success.

"From the beginning of the season, and even back to when the season was curtailed last year, it was my job to analyse where we were.

"Everyone had to self-reflect from an individual point of view and we needed to find the areas where we needed to improve.

"But it's always been a constant thing in terms of trying to find the marginal gains to push everyone in every area.

"The staff around the first team have been superb, everyone's on the same page in terms of trying to push these players to improve them as a group and as individuals.

"Marginal gains is what we always try to focus on."

Gerrard was also quizzed on the future of Allan McGregor, with the veteran's contract up in the summer.

The Rangers boss explained: "Allan's in fantastic form, we're really pleased with him.

"I think Allan's situation is a bit different than most because of his age, we obviously want to be very respectful to him.

"I think it'll be a case of what Allan wants to do. At the right time I'll sit down with Allan."
