Steven Gerrard's Rangers press conference in full as he drops hint over ousted Ibrox flops

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard hints that shipping out some unprofessional players in the summer is behind the upturn in form this season.

Last night's Europa League draw with Feyenoord extended the Gers' unbeaten run to 10 games, and they're locked level on points with Celtic at the top of the league.

Last season saw Rangers finish nine points behind their city rivals and Gerrard offered one potential explanation for their revival.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Aberdeen match he said: "I expected more consistency and more hunger.

"I expected us to get better results because I believe we made the squad and the team better in the summer.

"I expected our disciplinary (record) to be better, which helps in terms of results.

"And I think now we've got players who understand the professionalism that's required at this club and the standards.

"I think we've got more of a robust team and we're not getting as many injuries as last year.

"We're on a good run but that's all it is. It's a good run. We need to continue it."
