Steven Gerrard has reminded his players to live up to Rangers ' 'non-negotiable' standards ahead of Thursday's clash with Standard Liege.
Gerrard 's team know a win will put them through to the knockout stage with a game to spare but it won't be easy against a Standard side fighting for their own lives.
Speaking to reporters, Gerrard acknowledged the challenge facing his troops.
And he pointed to the standards the club sets for its players as they look to play Europa League knockout football for the second straight year.
He said: "It’s a non-negotiable in terms of standards. We’ve set the standards pretty high here. At Rangers, the standards belong to the club.
"We have a responsibility to maintain them on a daily basis. The message in terms of football is to focus on the next match and next challenge.
"Don’t look too far ahead. Remain humble and respectful to each challenge coming out way.
"The next challenge is Standard, a very good team. A dangerous team.
"But tomorrow night is a fantastic opportunity for us to go and qualify for the second year on the spin.
"That’s the challenge and the only one we should be focused on."
