Steven Gerrard's Rangers press conference in full as boss jokes his Scotland love affair is doomed

Steven Gerrard grinned as he revealed his support for Scotland will come to an abrupt end at Wembley next summer.

The Rangers boss previously admitted his joy watching Steve Clarke's side end two decades of major tournament agony.

But as a former England captain, Gerrard 's loyalty will remain with the Three Lions when the home nations collide at Euro 2020.

Asked if his Tartan Army backing will end in June, he replied: "As soon as the whistle goes..."

Gerrard was asked if keeper Jon McLaughli 's Euro ambitions would factor in to how much game-time he enjoys between now and the end of the season.

McLaughlin has traded places with Allan McGregor at times this season, but Gerrard jokingly quipped it's not his job to give Clarke a hand.

He added: "Eh... it's not my job to help Scotland!

"Look, we rate Jon very highly, we've got two, top class number one goalkeepers here.

"I'll make the best decisions for Rangers. What I will say is, I'll remain in communication and dialogue with Steve Clarke.

"I think it's important we manage Ryan Jack and Jon in the best possible way.

"I will try and support the national team from that point of view, I want both players."
