Steven Gerrard Rangers fan survey results as support ponders legend status and predicts remaining Ibrox timeline

Steven Gerrard is already an all-time Rangers great.

That's what almost a third of fans think anyway after the polling period in our great Gers survey closed over the weekend.

The Ibrox boss has already delivered a title for the Govan side and his side are going strong in the Premiership so far this season, topping the league even with some critics claiming they're not at their best.

Champions League football proved elusive at the first time of asking but it's a fourth consecutive group stage place for the Ibrox side in the Europa League this term as they look to equal or better two last 16 finishes, though they have their work cut out already in that regard after two defeats.

A domestic cup has been out of reach so far too but Gerrard has another crack and can reach the Premier Sports Cup Final by seeing off Hibs next month.

It was all about stopping Celtic's march towards a 10th consecutive title however and Gerrard achieved that ultimate aim behind closed doors last season.

That's enough for a huge chunk of the fanbase to already consider the Liverpool icon up there with Walter Smith, Jock Wallace and Graeme Souness.

In our special survey, we found 29 per cent believe he is of "all-time great" status at Rangers.

Nearly half - 47 per cent - believe he's a few more titles off that label while 24 per cent insist he must fire the team to the knockout stage of the Champions League first.

In terms of how long he'll stay at the club, 63 per cent reckon he will stick around for two to three more years.

16 per cent have their glass half full and reckon Gerrard will be here until 2025 or even longer – but just over a fifth reckon this current campaign will be his last in Glasgow.

If that's the case, no prizes for guessing where he'd move to.

70 per cent believe if he does move on it will be for Liverpool and 13 per cent think it could be the England job that entices him from Scotland.
