Celtic hero Frank McAvennie is confident Steven Gerrard WON'T leave Rangers this summer.
The Liverpool legend's managerial stock is at an all-time high after he guided the Ibrox club to a first league title in a decade.
Gerrard can make it a domestic double if he wins the Scottish Cup too, with a quarter-final clash with St Johnstone on Sunday.
He's been touted to take over at Tottenham, but one former Celtic man reckons his old club will be coming up against Gerrard for at least one more season.
McAvennie told Football Insider : "The fans will understand if he goes to Liverpool.
"I don’t think he walks this summer, maybe next year after he’s had a crack at the Champions League.
“They’ll be happy for him. He’s won the league for them and if he was to go at the end of next season the Rangers fans wouldn’t be too upset.
"Of course they’d be upset but if he went to Liverpool I think they could understand that.
“He’s a scouser, he’s a Liverpool boy and I’m sure they’d wish him all the best.”
