Steven Gerrard out of isolation as Rangers boss posts social media update ahead of St Johnstone clash

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is out of self-isolation ahead of his side's meeting with St Johnstone.

The Ibrox boss missed Rangers ' last two fixtures after being caught up in a Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

Captain James Tavernier and keepers Jon McLaughlin and Allan McGregor, plus Calvin Bassey and Scott Wright all sat out the draw with Alashkert and then the derby win over Celtic after the club confirmed positive cases and close contacts.

But Gerrard looks set to return to the dugout on Saturday as he updated his Instagram followers.

He posted a picture of a "post Covid catch-up" with what appeared to be associates from Angel Revive, the alkaline water firm of which he is a brand ambassador.

The Premiership champions' are this weekend's early kick-off as they travel to Perth for a 12.30pm start.

While in isolation, Gerrard watched Rangers earn a hard-fought derby victory over Celtic in the final game before the international break.

With World Cup qualifying put to bed until October, he's set to welcome several of his players back to training over the next few days.

He will, however, be without Ianis Hagi after the Romanian international returned a positive Covid-19 test.
