Steven Gerrard on the most 'frustrating' element of Rangers performance v Hibs as he rues mistakes

Steven Gerrard says defensive errors cost Rangers from winning a match they dominated, as they were held 2-2 by Hibs.

A second-half Christian Doidge header was enough to hold the Ibrox side, and ensure it's two points dropped for Gerrard's men.

Drey Wright opened the scoring for Hibs in the first 45-minutes but goals from Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield either side of half time seemed to have Rangers in control.

However Doidge netted with less than 20 minutes to go to ensure things finished level.

And Gerrard was less than impressed with the manner in which his side lost goals.

He told Sky Sports: "I'm sure Jack [Ross] will be pleased with the goal scorers, and how those goals came about. But from our point of view we need to defend them situations better – especially the second one.

"The first one is a diagonal ball. We need to win the header and then we need to get out to the man quicker. Take him on his weak foot.

"The second goal, it's a poor header. Again we need to deal better with the first header. Connor [Goldson] needs to clear his lines, and then when it comes to Tav he needs to show Boyle, who we know is a big threat, down on his weak side.

"We don't. We show him on his strong side and he puts a fantastic cross in, gives Filip [Helander] no chance up against Doidge.

"Disappointed in the manner we conceded the goals, but we still feel, over the course of the game, we had the best chances to win the game."
