Steven Gerrard next management job teased as Rangers hero pictured at airport

Steven Gerrard appears to be closing in on a return to management at Al-Ettifaq.

The former Rangers boss is reportedly considering a shock offer from the Saudi club to return to the dugout.

Reuters had claimed that Ettifaq had tabled an offer to Gerrard who is out of work after being dismissed by Aston Villa last year.

However, it's thought Gerrard had requested time to ponder the move to Saudi and return to management.

A source told the news outlet: "Al-Ettifaq made an offer to Gerrard.

"He welcomed the idea, but asked for time to study the offer."

Now, it appears Gerrard could have made his decision as an image shared online appeared to show the manager at a Saudi airport with speculation over an agreement with Ettifaq.

Romanian journalist Emanuel Roşu shared the image online and suggested Gerrard is closing in on a return to management.

He captioned a post on Twitter sharing the image: "Ettifaq were hiring mid-level Romanian coaches a few years back."
