Steven Gerrard names Rangers team for Malmo Champions League showdown at Ibrox

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has named his starting line-up for tonight's crunch Champions League qualifier against Malmo at Ibrox.

The Gers trail 2-1 from the first-leg in Sweden, and will be looking to overturn the deficit in their bid to reach the competition's group stages for the first time since 2008.

And it looks as though Gerrard has gone for an offensive-looking set-up, with Scott Wright, Joe Aribo, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent all included from the start.

Scott Arfield returns to midfield alongside Steve Davis, but there's no place in the starting XI for new signing John Lundstram or Romanian international Ianis Hagi, who both drop to the bench:

New signing Fashion Sakala also makes the bench, as does Swedish centre-back Filip Helander, who is left out at the expense of Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun.

Whilst the Gers trail 2-1 on aggregate, there is no need to worry about conceding a dreaded away goal tonight after UEFA scrapped the rule in all of their club competitions this season.

The winner of tonight's tie will face the winner of Greek giants Olympiacos or Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets Razgrad with a place in the lucrative group stages hanging in the balance.
