Steven Gerrard makes 'problems' prediction for Aston Villa vs Manchester United

Steven Gerrard believes that his Aston Villa side can 'create problems' for Manchester United when the two teams meet in the teatime kick off on Saturday evening.

It will be the second time in just six days that the two sides have squared up against each other.

On Monday, United overcame Villa in the FA Cup thanks to a Scott McTominay header in the eighth minute.

However many pundits praised Gerrard's players for a spirited performance at Old Trafford as they had two goals ruled out for offside and other big chances to score.

Speaking in his press conference before the Premier League fixture, the former Liverpool captain said: "The only frustration I had the other night is we didn’t progress in the FA Cup, which is important to us.

"The only way to get the feeling and the mood back that I want is to get a big result tomorrow.

"It’s a unique situation, playing the same team twice in a short space of time, but it’s also a fantastic opportunity to bounce back.

"If we can find a similar level of performance, be a little bit more ruthless in the final third and the big calls on the night go in our favour, I’ve got no doubt we can get the result we want.

"We know the quality and the level of player that’s coming to Villa Park and the challenge ahead of us.

"We’ll be respectful of that, but the players should take big belief and confidence that when they’re at their best, we can create problems for Manchester United."

United currently lie seventh in the Premier League table with 31 points from 19 matches.

The hosts find themselves 14th, nine points behind Ralf Rangnick's side having played the same number of matches.
