Steven Gerrard has claimed that Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is controlling games just as Manchester United legend Paul Scholes used to.
Henderson assumed the mantle of Reds skipper from Gerrard after the latter left the club in 2015 and he has continued to grow into the role after a difficult start.
The 29-year-old is now vital to Liverpool's success on the field and within the last twelve months he has led the Anfield club to Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup glory.
Henderson has made 34 appearances this season and led the Reds to within touching distance the Premier League trophy - after a 30-year wait for a league title - only for the season to be suspended amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The England international also played a vital role in setting up the 'Players Together' initiative to raise money for those fighting the COVID-19 outbreak in the UK - though it came as no shock to Gerrard to see him take the lead.
"It's no surprise to me how he is handling himself on and off the pitch, obviously I played with him for numerous years for Liverpool and England," Gerrard told BT Sport .
"Very fit, athletic boy who is very selfless in how he approaches his play on the pitch. He puts everyone else before himself and when you play alongside him you appreciate the job he does for the team."

England great Gerrard also highlighted a number of qualities which allow Henderson to control games and make his style of play similar to Scholes'.
Gerrard added: "I think over the years he has developed parts of his game, his passing range is fantastic and he's running games with control a bit like Paul Scholes used to do it.
"He's leading by example and he is always there for the team."
