Steven Gerrard makes Liverpool admission and drops hint about his Rangers future

Steven Gerrard has no intention of leaving Rangers anytime soon after lifting the Scottish Premiership trophy.

Having started his coaching career with former club Liverpool, the Reds legend took over at Ibrox in 2018 and led the Scottish giants to the title this season.

Ending Celtic's hopes of securing '10-in-a-row' in the process, victory over Aberdeen on Saturday as the last day of the Scottish season saw Rangers finish the campaign unbeaten as they won their first title in a decade.

With Liverpool enduring an underwhelming campaign, Gerrard had been tipped to replace Jurgen Klopp should he leave Anfield earlier this season.

Meanwhile, with both men's contracts set to expire in 2024, it has been speculated he will be the long-term successor for the German with Gerrard making no secret of his desire to manage Liverpool one day.

However, the former midfielder has revealed he has no intention of leaving Rangers anytime soon and is determined to bring further silverware to Ibrox.

"When I grew up as a kid I thought it was one club for life," he told Sky Sports. "I've come through at Liverpool and had my career at Liverpool which I'm immensely proud of.

"I came up here with my eyes wide open to learn more about the club, I had a good idea from the outside but this has grabbed me, it's gripped me. It's a club like very few in the world. There's a lot of similarities with Liverpool.

"I'm happy here, I've got to make a lot of sacrifices family-wise, but I want more.

"This has given me a taste for more and I'm determined to build on it."
