Since then, Unai Emery has steered Villa to a respectable mid-table position in the English top flight while Gerrard has been working behind the scenes at Anfield in various roles. However, he could land another chance at management with the Polish FA currently searching for Czesław Michniewicz's replacement following their World Cup campaign.

Polish outlet Meczyki report that talks with Gerrard have already started ahead of their European qualifying campaign, which kicks off against the Czech Republic in March.
