Steven Gerrard left in Rangers hysterics as he reacts to Ianis Hagi's career 'first' one-liner

Things are going so well for Rangers right now that Steven Gerrard even has time to take to social media to recognise one of his Europa League heroes.

The Liverpool legend is a keen user of Instagram and couldn't resist laughing at Ianis Hagi 's goal description after the playmaker nodded home against Lech Poznan during the 2-0 win on Thursday night.

Some playmakers lack a killer touch in front of goal but the Romanian was on hand to make sure Connor Goldson's effort crossed the line from an inch out.

The win sealed top spot in Europa League Group D and Hagi headed to social media to celebrate his goal and secure Rangers all three points in Poland.

Hagi said: "Fantastic away win and delighted to be back on the scoresheet.

"Heading into the knockouts as group winners.

"P.S. got my first official header tonight."

The witty post had caught Gerrard's attention as the Ibrox boss simply responded with a laughing emoji.

Before Hagi added: "I gotta be proud of it, gaffer", with a shrug and laughing emoji added on.

The 22-year-old will be aiming to build upon his impressive display and make the starting XI for his side's pivotal Premiership clash with Dundee United on Sunday.
