Quick-thinking Steven Gerrard made a swift recovery after almost being left hanging out to dry before Thursday's Europa League clash with Young Boys.
The Rangers boss was speaking with presenter Emma Dodds but his attempted handshake was missed by the BT Sport star.
Gerrard doubled down and made sure his gesture was spotted before heading back down the tunnel shortly before kick-off.
And the playful exchange was picked up on social media and Celtic hero Chris Sutton even had his say.
The Record Sport columnist tweeted: "You can’t leave Steven Gerrard hanging Emma!."
And Dodds herself responded: "Thankfully he came back so I could ‘unhang’ him and myself.
"What a guy."
The Rangers boss has had some TV funny moments in the past during his Liverpool days. He once slipped in a post-match interview and a Chelsea mascot once played a prank on him by refusing the Anfield icon's handshake.
But lightning didn't strike twice in Switzerland.
