Steven Gerrard issues Rangers injury update with two key men 'to be assessed' ahead of Killie clash

Ryan Jack and Alfredo Morelos will undergo assessment after picking up knocks in Rangers' Europa League victory over Lech Poznan.

Both players were second half substitutes in the 1-0 win, which came courtesy of a powerful Morelos header.

Gerrard admitted he does have a couple of "bumps and bruises" to contend with within his squad as his attention switches to a trip to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock on Sunday.

He said: "We've got a couple that we're going to assess this morning. Alfredo's taken a kick in the calf area that we'll look at. Also Ryan Jack in a similar area as well.

"We'll have a look at them this morning. We don't think they are too serious but they are definitely something that needs looking at today."

Gerrard feels his squad are in confident mood going into Sunday's match, with the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership to nine points.

He added: "It's a quick turnaround. We have to remain focused, we have to move on very quickly from last night's performance and win, and switch our attention to a right tricky game at Rugby Park.

"But we'll be ready. We're in a good place, in good form. The players are happy, staff are happy, and we'll go there and give it our best."
