Steven Gerrard in sentimental Rangers admission as he reveals Lionel Richie karaoke request

Satisfied Rangers gaffer Steven Gerrard says Glasgow has become his second home after Liverpool as he opens-up on life at Ibrox.

Although his team are yet to win silverware under the Scouser's tenure, he remains a popular figure with the fans as he rebuilds the club from what was very shaky foundations.

That has been transformed in his 18 months at the helm as the Gers look a force to be reckoned with on all fronts - including Europe where they have qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League .

And the Liverpool legend has revealed how much he is enjoying the challenge.

Speaking to Dugout he said: "It's almost my second home now after Liverpool but yeah, I'm enjoying myself.

"I've settled in really well, and I work for a fantastic club, so things are good.

"I'm loving it. I mean, it is taking me back to the days when I played.

"The reason I took the Rangers job on was because it was an exciting opportunity to experience European football again and that competitive , competing every three, four days was all to try and have those experiences again at Rangers .

"It's been fantastic and I've loved every minute of it."

As the Rangers boss and presenter Alison Bender travelled to Ibrox she joked that plans were afoot for them to do a version of Carpool Karaoke - something that left Gerrard totally unfazed.

He joked: "That's no problem with me, just stick a Lionel Richie number on and we are away!"
