Steven Gerrard in Ryan Jack Rangers alert as Ibrox boss teases full-time playing return

Saturday's friendly match against a Liverpool legend's team saw manager Steven Gerrard pull on a Rangers shirt for the first time.

The legendary midfielder switched allegiances toward the end of the match, playing the last 10 minutes for Rangers .

It was a moment fans had been desperate to see, and Gerrard got a rapturous reception when he appeared from the Ibrox tunnel in the famous blue kit.

The former England international even joked that he could replace one of his own players in the Rangers engine room, having pulled on the shirt for the first time.

In behind-the-scenes footage from the game Gerrard can be seen changing into a Gers top, before making his way down the Ibrox tunnel.

"How do I look?" Gerrard asks club staff as he approaches the pitch, before joking that he could play himself in midfield.

"Ryan Jack should be worried, shouldn't he?"

The Liverpool legends won the match 3-2 with Patrik Berger, Emile Heskey and Luis Garcia getting on the scoresheet.

Peter Lovenkrands and Kris Boyd scored for Rangers, with the latter missing an early penalty after being brought down by Jamie Carragher.
