Rangers fans could get a first glimpse of Fashion Sakala in action as Steven Gerrard takes his champions to Firhill for their first pre-season friendly game.
Partick Thistle boss Ian McCall revealed they will welcome their Glasgow rivals to Maryhill for a bounce match with the Jags gaffer hopeful of 1000 fans in the ground.
Rangers have so far only confirmed a friendly against Arsenal as part of their preparations for the defence of their first Scottish Premiership crown in a decade.
But McCall revealed they will take on the Light Blues and that Gers boss Gerrard and assistant Gary McAllister have promised to field the “heavy hitters”.
New signing Sakala joined from Oostende and McCall said of the fixture: “It’s a fantastic game.

“I’ve spoken to Steven and Gary and it’s Rangers full team. All the heavy hitters, all the new signings.
“Hopefully we’ll have 1000 fans, I don’t know the number really. We could have a vast number of Rangers fans in here although they can see it on RangersTV.
“I’m sure they’ll all want to see their team for the first time after they topped 10 in a row which was a big big deal for Rangers.
“We’ve got a very good relationship with Rangers and it’ll be a great test of fitness for us because we’ll be chasing the ball for the vast majority of the game.
“It’s one to be excited about for the players to play against these top players and hopefully in two or three years that is where we’ll be.”
Thistle are back in the Championship and defeated Kelty Hearts 3-2 in a friendly win on Saturday as they prepare for a return to the second tier.
Rangers had been in talks over a pre-season trip to Portugal, funded by Danish side SonderjyskE but travel restrictions appear to have scuppered that.
The Light Blues were then reported to be considering a camp closer to home at St Andrews, although Dundee United planned to block them using their facility.
