Steven Gerrard isn’t interested in whether Rangers are favourites or not against Malmo.
The Scottish Premiership champions face the Swedes in their Champions League third qualifying round first leg tomorrow night before the return at Ibrox a week later.
Whoever comes out on top will be just 180 minutes from the group stages, with the play-off round draw set to take place later on this morning.
But when asked by a Swedish journalist who were the favourites to reach that stage, Gerrard had little time for comparing odds.
And he’s well aware of what Malmo can bring to the table after swotting up on tomorrow night’s opponents over the last week or so.
“Last time I checked, I’m a football manager, not a bookmaker,” he replied.
“If you want to look at what the odds are, just find a website. There’s many of them out there.
“I have watched a lot of Malmo in the last ten days and have been impressed with the fitness levels and work ethic, they can play with a four but also change to a back five so we have to be prepared for this.
"They can be very aggressive and press high at home.”
