Steven Gerrard in madcap Rangers dressing room celebration as Ibrox boss launches into victory slide

Rangers' pre-emptive title celebrations reached new levels in a hilarious clip of manager Steven Gerrard.

Videos emerged after the champions-elect defeated St Mirren 3-0 of a euphoric dressing room sing-song.

The players know they're on the cusp of greatness with just one point from their remaining six games required to mathematically seal the Scottish Premiership.

And it could be delivered as soon as Sunday lunchtime if Celtic fail to beat Dundee United at Tannadice.

The full squad headed straight over to an opening of the ground after the match to soak up the acclaim of fans who broke lockdown restrictions to cheer their team from outside Ibrox.

And now a video has emerged of Gerrard soaking up the win - by sliding across the the dressing room.

Director of football Ross Wilson can even be seen clearing the way as he sweeps an empty bottle of beer away with his foot.

And Gerrard then passes a pile of empties as he takes a run-up before diving forward along the club crest on the floor.

Gerrard said after the game that he was finding it hard to keep his emotions in check as his side finally reach their goal of a 55th title after three whirlwind seasons in Govan.

He said: “It's tough because we're so close. And it's been a long journey over the three years.

“There have been some highs and lows in there. But I've just walked into a happy dressing-room, because we're so close now.

“When I turned up at the stadium today, it was emotional. You could see on the fans’ faces what it meant.

“How are my emotions right now? Bubbling. I'm obviously really happy and proud. I can relate to these emotions that I've had as a player.

“At the same time I want to stay controlled because it's not confirmed as of yet. But I think everyone knows it's' 99.99 per cent done."
