Steven Gerrard in Bukayo Saka message as Rangers boss delivers instant England Euro 2020 heartbreak reaction

England legend Steven Gerrard has offered support to Bukayo Saka after the teenager missed the decisive penalty in England's Euro 2020 shoot-out.

Italy claimed the top prize at Wembley in a dramatic penalty victory with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Saka missing their spot-kicks.

The 19-year-old was handed the fifth penalty as the Arsenal kids effort was stopped Gianluigi Donnarumma continuing 55 years of pain for the Auld Enemy.

However, Rangers boss Gerrard was quick to offer support to the teenager, who was left in tears following the final whistle.

Straight after the final whistle, the Liverpool icon posted an image of Saka with the comment: "So brave kid".

Despite struggling to make an impact in a final dominated by Roberto Mancini's men, Saka has enjoyed his breakthrough season both in the English Premier League and at club level.

He impressed against Denmark in the semi-final and has been backed by media south of the border for stepping up at the crucial moment for England.
