Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson insists Steven Gerrard was even better than Paul Scholes and Frank Lampard.
The Rangers boss had an illustrious playing career, lifting the Champions League with his beloved Reds.
At international level though there was constant debate over whether he and Lampard could play together for England - and if their talents were worth pushing Scholes out to the left.
While it's not unexpected for the Liverpool captain to back Gerrard, there's no doubt in Henderson's mind over who the best of the best was.
He said on The Locker Room: "I’m going to be biased and say Gerrard, of course.
"I just feel as though, I’ve played with Stevie for many years obviously, but watching him before he was a massive inspiration just because of the way he played.
"He could just do everything, whether it was defending, attacking – he was the complete midfielder.
"I got to know him on a personal level and that grew even more, you know, how he was a person, as a leader, he was so humble. Especially with what he’d achieved in his career and he helped us a lot.
"For me, I’ll always say Gerrard."
