Steven Gerrard completes Rangers Manager of the Year hat-trick after landing PFA Scotland prize

Steven Gerrard has completed the clean sweep of Manager of the Year awards after picking up the PFA Scotland prize.

The former England captain becomes only the third Rangers boss to win the gong after Walter Smith and Mark Warburton.

And it makes it a hat-trick for Gerrard after he was also named Scottish Football Writers’ Association and SPFL Manager of the Year.

The 40-year-old beat Scottish Premiership rivals David Martindale and Callum Davidson, along with Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn from the Championship, to the award.

It comes on the weekend Gerrard lifted the Scottish Premiership trophy after leading Rangers to their first top flight title in a decade.

The Light Blues romped to their historic success, beating rivals Celtic by 25 points and also qualified for the last-16 in the Europa League where they lost to Slavia Prague.

Davidson was nominated for his success in the Betfred Cup with St Johnstone while also steering the Saints to the Scottish Cup Final against Hibs this weekend to complete a potential cup double.

Martindale steered Livingston to a top-six Premiership finish, while McGlynn's Rovers soared to the play-off semi-finals where they bowed out to Dundee.

But it was Gerrard who won over the PFA members in the vote to complete a personal treble.
