Steven Gerrard celebrates Rangers return to form as boss eases Glen Kamara injury anxiety

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard insists his champions looked far more worthy of that title after blowing Ross County away in a 4-2 win in Dingwall.

A brilliant Joe Aribo strike gave the visitors the lead inside 15 minutes and Connor Goldson added a second shortly after.

Alfredo Morelos grabbed the third before Scott Arfield rounded off the win, although County did intermittently peg back the visitors through Harry Clarke and a Jordan White penalty.

All in all that scoreline arguably flattered the Staggies as the Ibrox side reverted to the form that saw them scoop an unbeaten Premiership crown.

And Gerrard told Rangers TV: "I think it was much more like us both in and out of possession, a lot more happy today.

"You could see what we were trying to do out of possession, much more organised at times.

"We are still trying to fine tune that and to get the full squad settled. But we will get better in that department.

"I thought we showed a lot of quality today, we created a lot. If James scores at the end there it could have been one or two more.

"Going forward we look really dangerous, we have come away from home and got the three important points and that is the main thing.

"I think the second goal is really unlucky from Calvin, he has tried to put his body on the line but it is what it is, it is the rules but that one was very unfortunate.

"Slightly disappointed with their first goal, I think we could have defended our box better but that is an area of our squad we are still working on and fine tuning and we will improve but all in all it was a lot closer to how we wanted it to go today."

Fans will have been worried to see Glen Kamara pull up to be replaced by John Lundstram in the closing stages.

But Gerrard insists it's nothing to worry about as the midfielder tries to stifle the after effects of a busy close season with FInland at Euro 2020.

He added: "I think he is fine. He had a little bit of cramp.

"Glen came back late, he is another one without a full pre-season and he is still trying to get up to full speed.

"It is the first time he has played a couple of games in a week so he will get fitter and stronger but it is great to have him back because he is so suited to our style, people do not give him as much credit as he deserves."
