Steven Gerrard celebrates Rangers glory with Buckingham Palace trip after dethroning Celtic

Steven Gerrard ensured Rangers became Kings of Scotland once again after dethroning nine-in-a-row champions Celtic.

And the Light Blues boss took a trip to The Queen’s home as he enjoyed some quality end of season family time after an historic campaign at Ibrox.

Gerrard shared an image on his Instagram account outside a sun-kissed Buckingham Palace along with his daughter, Lexie.

Few would deny the Rangers boss a break following a gruelling campaign where the pressure was really on his team to stop the Hoops from winning 10-in-a-row and win the club’s much-coveted 55th title.

And Gerrard’s trip to London also comes just days before he celebrates his 41st birthday on May 30.

The Rangers boss is no stranger to Buckingham Palace either having been awarded an MBE in the 2006 New Year's Honours List.

Gerrard received that for services to football following his role as Liverpool captain in their incredible comeback Champions League final win over AC Milan in Istanbul.

The former England midfielder was accompanied by his now wife Alex to Buckingham Palace for his investiture by the Queen.

Gerrard will be making the most of his down time because it won’t be long before he’s back preparing for next season and a Champion s League title with Rangers.
