Tottenham next manager: Two former Liverpool figures and ex-Everton boss in running as Antonio Conte price drops

Former Liverpool pair Brendan Rodgers and Steven Gerrard are among the names being linked with the vacant Tottenham job.

Spurs confirmed this morning that they have parted company with Nuno Espirito Santo after just four months in charge.

The North London club have lost five of their past seven Premier League matches with their latest coming at the weekend at the hands of Manchester United.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford eased the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but ramped it up on Nuno.

Speculation began to surface on Sunday night claiming the 47-year-old was set to be sacked following talks between the club’s board.

And on Monday morning Spurs confirmed that they had indeed opted to part company with Nuno and his coaching staff.

In the latest odds from Betfair, Rodgers and Gerrard both rank among the names linked with the role.

Rodgers is priced at 14/1 for the job, the fifth favourite, with former Liverpool captain Gerrard priced at 25/1 to replace the former Wolves boss.

Antonio Conte is the favourite priced at 3/10, with some reports suggesting that he is in London for talks over the role.

While Ryan Mason, Graham Potter and Paulo Fonseca make up the top four names in the betting.
