Steven Gerrard and Rangers trolled by Manchester City fans as shock defeat sparks mocking chant

It was tough day at the office for Steven Gerrard as Rangers slumped to defeat against Dundee United.

The Premiership champions undefeated league record was brought to an abrupt halt at Tannadice by Tam Courts' men.

The surprise result was broadcast on Sky Sports allowing fans up and down the country to catch a glimpse of Rangers ' woes

Including, it seems, Manchester City fans ahead of the Community Shield clash.

The Ibrox boss appeared on TV giving his post-match debrief, but his thoughts on the game were drowned out by a familiar chant from English Premier League supporters.

The City fans serenaded Gerrard with a reminder of his costly slip as a Liverpool player against Chelsea, which allowed Demba Ba to score for the Blues.

That would go on to all-but end the Reds hopes of lifting the Premier League title.

Once the action got underway on the pitch for City, they suffered defeat of their own at Wembley.

Kelechi Iheanacho's last minute penalty handed the early season trophy to Brendan Rodgers ' Leicester in London.
