Rangers boss Steven Gerrard laid a wreath at Ibrox along with his assistant Gary McAllister in memory of Walter Smith.
They were joined by skipper James Tavernier and veteran duo Allan McGregor and Steven Davis - who both played under the legendary manager at Ibrox.
They arrived at the stadium to prepare for Wednesday night's game with Aberdeen and they were also joined by club chairman Douglas Park and Sporting Director Ross Wilson.
Gerrard's wreath had a hand-written note from the Rangers boss where he expressed his sympathy to the family of the legendary former manager.
The note said: "To the Smith family, I am really sorry for your loss on behalf of me and my staff.
“I want to send our condolences. He was a huge support to us all. He will be sorely missed.
"Lots of love, Steven Gerrard".
Earlier in the day, a delegation from Celtic also made their way to Ibrox to pay their respects to Smith.
Former player Tom Boyd - who came up against Smith's teams on a regular basis in the 90s - was joined by chairman Ian Bankier and chief executive Michael Nicholson.
The trio also laid a wreath at the John Greig statue.
