Steven Fletcher transfer latest as Celtic boss Neil Lennon 'spinning plates' amid striker talks

Neil Lennon revealed Celtic are "spinning a few plates" in the hunt for a new striker.

The Parkhead boss confirmed Record Sport's exclusive the club are in talks with Scotland international Steven Fletcher.

It's also claimed discussions have been held with former Charlton striker Lyle Taylor.

Lennon did not confirm those talks either way but insists he's a busy man in the search for further additions.

He said: "We're in talks with his (Fletcher) representatives but nothing's confirmed one way or another.

"We're linked with a few (strikers) so it's obviously an area we want to add in.

"We're spinning a few plates so if we can get a quality one in it'll help us.

"We've got good strikers in the building already but it'd be really good to add another one, just for squad depth and competition."

The club remain interested in Ivan Toney but Peterborough chief Barry Fry has urged them to get a move on, insisting the striker is close to agreeing a deal elsewhere.

Fry told the Daily Mail: "They are running out of time now. The lad is very close to signing for someone else in the next couple of days

"Celtic would have been his preferred choice, but they are nowhere near it.

"I heard from Ivan’s agent to say Celtic were coming back. That was Sunday evening after their first game. They had heard Celtic would be coming back, but I haven’t heard anything."
