Steven Fletcher to Celtic latest as former Hibs striker is linked with Scottish football return

Former Hibs striker Steven Fletcher is said to be in talks with Celtic over a potential move to the Scottish champions.

The Scotland international could be set to join Neil Lennon's side for the upcoming season.

The Daily Record report that talks between the player and club are close to be concluded, although the length of contract remains up in the air. Celtic reportedly want to offer him a one-year deal, but Fletcher is keen on a longer contract.

Fletcher is a free agent having departed Sheffield Wednesday earlier this summer, and he is believed to have moved back to Scotland.

The 33-year-old has been a Scotland national team regular for a number of years, and is fresh from a decade in English football. He cost Sunderland £12million in 2012 and also turned out for Wolves and Burnley.

He rose to prominence with Hibs scoring 52 goals in 189 games before earning his move down south.
