Steven Fletcher agrees Dundee United transfer as Dylan Levitt set to make make it double signing joy

Premiership side Dundee United have agreed deals to sign Dylan Levitt and Steven Fletcher.

The duo will sign two year deals at Tannadice and will become Jack Ross’ first signings as he begins shaping his vision in earnest. Midfielder Levitt moves from Manchester United after United agreed an undisclosed fee for the Welsh international. The 21-year-old had a successful loan at Tannadice last season and was a top summer target. He was at United’s training ground on Thursday to finalise his move.

It has been a long process for the Taysiders as the Old Trafford club took up the option to renew Levitt’s contract. United had been in talks over a loan deal but United softened their stance and agreed a six figure deal that allowed United to make it a permanent deal. Former Scotland cap Fletcher also comes in on a free transfer after leaving Stoke City.

The 35-year-old was Ross’s top striking target and he has managed to get his man. Fletcher made his name at Hibs but played most of his career south of the border with Burnley, Wolves, Sunderland and Sheffield United. He has spent the last two seasons as a regular with Michael O’Neill’s Stoke City.

The pair will now travel with the United team for their pre-season trip to Spain next week. They will also be well bedded for their forthcoming Europa Conference League assault.

Ross offered hopes at the weekend that signings would be imminent and now two key arrivals are incoming.
